The Dentist
Melanie J. Blanton, DMD, PA
- 1984: Graduated with honors from Wren High School
in Piedmont SC, where she was active in various scholastic
clubs and was a leader in the award-winning marching band.
- 1988: Graduated from Presbyterian College in
Clinton SC, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree
in Chemistry while pursuing a pre-dental curriculum. Community
service was and continues to be an important aspect of PC's
curriculum, and this remains an important part of Dr. Blanton's
goals.
- 1992: Graduated from MUSC's College of Dental
Medicine in Charleston where she obtained her license as
a SC dentist.
- 1994: Completed specialty training in Pediatric
Dentistry at the University of Maryland at Baltimore College
of Dental Surgery and began working in a private practice.
Dr. Blanton is committed to professional excellence. After
successful completion of a voluntary rigorous examination and
critique of her clinical and diagnostic abilities, Dr. Blanton
has been designated a Diplomate of the American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Erica Smith
Certified Dental Assistant/Clinical Supervisor
After graduating from Greenville
Technical College in 1994, Erica entered the pediatric
dental field. She has
years of pediatric experience and loves it! She is married
and has 2 children. She is a charter employee
of the dental practice joining Dr. Blanton in 1998.
She is an accomplished pianist and enjoys playing in
her church orchestra.

Tracy Ballew
Dental Assistant
Tracy is a 1989 graduate
of Berea High School. She joined Dr. Blanton's
staff in May 2003 with 15 years of prior pediatric dental
assisting experience. She is married and has a
daughter. Her hobbies include swimming
and cheering for her daughter at athletic events.

Becky Campbell
Reception/Front Desk
Becky previously worked
in customer service for 15 years before joining the
dental staff of Dr. Blanton in February of 1999.
She is married and has 2 children and 4 fantastic grandchildren.
In her free time, Becky enjoys horseback riding, gardening,
and participating in church events.

Tonya Carson
Office Manager/Patient Accounts
Tonya is a 1984 graduate
of Greenville Technical College with an Associate Degree
in Business. Prior to joining Dr. Blanton's staff
in October 1999, she worked as an administrative assistant
for 20 years. She is married and has 2 sons. When
she is not spending time with her family, she is usually
scrap-booking. She also enjoys singing and gardening.
